Ugo Corte earned a PhD in sociology from Uppsala University, Sweden in 2012 where he is currently teaching. During Spring 2013 he was Post-doctoral Fellow at The Institute for Housing Research (IBF) at Uppsala University. His research with Tom R. Burns on governance has been published by Giulio Einaudi Press. While his work on music and social movements with Bob Edwards has appeared in the inaugural issue of Music and Arts in Action (MAiA). His work on subcultures (also with Edwards) has been featured in Sport in Society. Additionally Corte’s latest study on small group creativity has been printed in the Social Psychology Quarterly in 2013. His dissertation titled Subcultures and Small Groups: A Social Movement Theory Approach (2012) uses and theorizes the advantages of employing social movement theory to analyze the emergence, activities, and development of subcultures and small groups.
