Rocío R. García

Rocío R. García is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at UCLA. Her research and teaching interests center on intersectional feminist theories, the politics of knowledge production, reproductive justice, and Latinx sociology. Her publications include “Normative Ideals, ‘Alternative’ Realities: Perceptions of Interracial Dating Among Professional Latinas and Black Women” (2015, Societies) and “The Politics of Erased Migrations: Expanding a Relational Intersectional Sociology of Latinx Gender and Migration” (forthcoming, Sociology Compass). Her dissertation examines the origins and distinguishing features of a pan-ethnoracial Latinx feminist framework, and the implications of this framework for intersectional movements for global justice.
