Dr. Nicole Fox, Ph.D., is a professor of criminal justice at California State University Sacramento, researching the aftermath of atrocity and mass violence. Her most recent project analyzes acts of rescue and bystander intervention during political violence. Dr. Fox’s scholarship has been published in the Social Forces, Journal for Scientific Study of Religion, Sociological Forum, Societies without borders, among others. Her work has generously been supported by the National Science Foundation, Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, Andrew Mellon Foundation, University of New Hampshire’s Prevention Innovations Research and the American Sociological Association’s Fund for the Advancement of the Discipline. At California State University Sacramento, Fox teaches classes on comparative criminal justice, the American criminal justice system and crime and punishment.
