Michaela is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Justice Center for Research at Penn State University. She is interested in questions of social and individual action in situations of oppression or extreme disadvantage. Her new research project is an interview study investigating negative turning points in the life of teenagers who were adjudicated as adults. Articles based on her research have been published in the British Journal of Criminology, Qualitative Research and Mobilization. After her tenure at Penn State, she will begin her appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Sociology department at Hunter College.
