Jeff Guhin

For his dissertation, Jeff Guhin spent a year and a half in two Evangelical Christian and two Sunni Muslim high schools in the New York City area, examining how these communities use science, scripture, and prayer.  His work has appeared in America, Killing the Buddha, The Immanent Frame, and Cultural Sociology.  “The Violences of Knowledge: Edward Said, Sociology, and Post-Orientalist Reflexivity”–co-written with Jonathan Wyrzten for Political Power and Social Theory–is forthcoming in Polish translation.  He completes his Ph.D. in Sociology at Yale University in 2013
