Gabriela is a Uruguayan Ph.D. student in sociology at State University of New York at Stony Brook. She obtained an M.A. in Sociology (2010) and a Diploma in Women and Gender Studies (2011) from the same institution. She has undertaken numerous investigations on diverse issues in the field of political sociology, such as contentious politics in Latin America, youth social movements, memory and politics, guerrilla warfare and gender. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on the social power of student movements of Chile and Argentina in the last decades.
