Emmanuel is a second-year sociology Ph.D. student at the University of Notre Dame, focusing on race, gender, and social movements. He is currently studying the intersection of bystander intervention and race and also researching the founding of a Black Lives Matter chapter. He received a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Before beginning graduate work at Notre Dame, Emmanuel was an administrator at Notre Dame for four years as an Assistant Director in the Gender Relations Center.
