Edwin Amenta

Edwin Amenta is a professor of sociology and political science at the University of California, Irvine. He is the author of Bold Relief: Institutional Politics and the Origins of Modern American Social Policy (Princeton), When Movements Matter: The Townsend Plan and the Rise of Social Security (Princeton), Professor Baseball (Chicago), and is a co-editor of the Wiley-Blackwell Companion to Political Sociology. His next book, with Neal Caren, will be about U.S. movements and the news media, tentatively titled The First Rough Draft of U.S. Movement History.
