Ed Walker is Associate Professor of Sociology at UCLA. He is the author of Grassroots for Hire: Public Affairs Consultants in American Democracy (Cambridge University Press 2014) which won the Charles Tilly Award from the American Sociological Association’s section on Collective Behavior and Social Movements. He is also coeditor (with Caroline Lee and Michael McQuarrie) of Democratizing Inequalities: Pitfalls and Unrealized Promises of the New Public Participation (NYU Press 2015).
