Denisa is Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore and Asia Research Institute fellow. She is also a member of Hackteria.org, an exchange network of hackers, makers and academics supporting research in places with missing infrastructure and building nomadic labs in Indonesia and Nepal. In her present research she is bringing together Science Technology Society (STS) studies approaches with Interactive Media Design. She builds design prototypes and critical probes to create tools for deliberation, reflection and public participation in emergent science and technology issues. She follows and supports science community labs, alternative R&D places (Hackerspaces, FabLabs) and the (Do It Yourself) DIYbio movement. She has extensive experience as a curator of exhibitions and projects related to art, technology and science, and previous career in internet start-ups and journalism.
