Daniel Burridge is a PhD candidate and graduate student researcher in the Department of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh. He has conducted field research in urban and rural territories of El Salvador for his Masters thesis on interactions between social movements and the country’s leftist government. For his PhD, he plans to do a comparative study on El Salvador and Nicaragua regarding relations between movements and the state.
