Matthew Baggetta is Assistant Professor of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University and affiliated faculty of both the Department of Sociology and the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. His research interests include civil society and civic engagement, voluntary associations, and social movements with past substantive attention ranging from major environmental advocacy groups to local community choirs. His recent work focuses in particular on the effects on participants of participation in various associational contexts. His work has appeared in the American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, and Perspectives on Politics.
