David is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oxford and will be assistant professor of sociology at the University of Toronto beginning in 2014. He received his PhD in Sociology in 2012 from the University of Washington. David’s dissertation project addressed the reasons as to why the U.S. is not a policy laggard when it comes to disability rights . In addressing this broad theme, he focused more specifically on the interaction between institutional entrepreneurs, protest and nonprofit groups in promoting a rights agenda.
