David is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Brandeis University, and also directs the university’s interdisciplinary program in Social Justice & Social Policy. His current research focuses on the causes, consequences, and legacy of racial violence, and has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, and the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation. His book Klansville, U.S.A.: The Rise and Fall of the Civil Rights-Era KKK will be published by Oxford University Press in late 2012.
